FAQ

Common questions

Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?

Not always. We do a load calculation on your current panel first. Many 100-amp homes can add a charger with a load management device instead of a full upgrade.

Do you pull permits?

Yes, whenever the job requires one, such as panel upgrades, new circuits and basement wiring. We book the inspection and send you the sign-off.

Can you add pot lights without tearing open the ceiling?

In most homes, yes. We fish the wires through small openings and patch them so they're ready for paint.

My breaker keeps tripping. Is that dangerous?

It means the breaker is doing its job, but something is wrong: an overloaded circuit, a bad device or a short. If you smell burning or see scorch marks, turn the breaker off and call us.

Should I replace knob-and-tube or aluminum wiring?

Often yes, and many insurers ask for it. We inspect it first and tell you what needs replacing now and what can wait.

Do you take emergency calls?

During business hours we fit in urgent safety calls the same day, like burning smells, sparking outlets or a partial power loss.
