Tidecoat is a crew of six painters who spend most of every job on prep: filling, sanding, caulking and priming. We cover your floors and furniture, keep the same crew on your house from start to finish, and leave labelled leftover paint for touch-ups.

FAQ
Common questions
How long does a room take?
Most bedrooms take one day for walls, or two days with ceiling and trim. We let each coat dry properly instead of rushing the second one.
What sheen should I use?
We suggest matte or eggshell for walls, flat for ceilings and semi-gloss for trim and doors. Kitchens and bathrooms do well in a scrubbable eggshell.
Will sprayed cabinets chip?
We degrease, sand and use a bonding primer, then spray a hard cabinet enamel. It needs about a week to fully cure, so we ask you to go gently for the first few days.
Do you paint exteriors in cool weather?
Exteriors go on when it's above 10°C and dry for the day. Interiors we paint all year.
Do you move furniture?
Yes. We move heavy furniture to the middle of the room and cover it. Please take down pictures and clear small items first.
Is a colour consultation included?
Yes. We bring a fan deck to your estimate and can paint sample boards so you see the colour on your own walls.
