Homes

Every house starts as a lot.

Two of the homes we have built, and what went into them.

The Inlet House at dusk, every window lit, a dog on the front step

Timber frame, 3 bedrooms

The Inlet House

A steep, rocky lot over the water. We kept every tree we could and stepped the house down the slope, so each floor gets its own view.

  • 2,900 sq ft over three levels
  • Douglas fir frame, cut by our crew
  • 13 months from ground to keys
The Inlet House great room under timber trusses

The Inlet House

The great room

Trusses joined with mortise and tenon and oak pegs, no steel plates. The fireplace stone came out of the dig for the foundation.

The Inlet House kitchen and dining room at dusk

The Inlet House

The kitchen

The owners wanted to see the water from the sink. The island and the table line up on the main post, which carries the floor above.

The Fern House, a dark cedar home with a timber porch in a misty forest

Modern, 2 bedrooms

The Fern House

A small house for a couple on a wooded lot. Charred cedar outside, one big room inside, and a timber porch that is used more than the living room.

  • 1,650 sq ft on one level
  • Charred cedar siding
  • 10 months from ground to keys

Have a lot in mind? We will come and see it.
